About

Murray MacDonald is a musician/teacher from Enderby, British Columbia, who has been providing music services in the North Okanagan/ Shuswap, for over thirty years. In addition to private guitar lessons, Murray has developed a dynamic system for teaching music to young children. This system was later adapted for working with at risk youth in the public school system. Whether the student is one or eighty-one years of age, the focus has always been on the individual and their particular learning style.

Music Classes

Murray MacDonald has taught music classes in a variety of settings including day cares, preschools, and elementary schools, since 1988.

His approach employs a combination of song, movement, games, dance, puppetry and percussion. The sessions are playful, interactive and promote active listening and cooperation. Each class progresses through a carefully arranged sequence of challenges, never losing sight of the need to keep it fun.

Murray completed a course in The Kodaly Method of music instruction, at the University of Victoria.
